Soulshine Festival is not an ordinary festival experience.
The only way to attend is by joining one of the 65+ teams cooperatively creating the community. This new structure necessitates active participation and equitable financial contribution from each member of the Soulshine Festival population.
How it works:
Start planning!
We are fast approaching our 2024 festival capacity. Many teams are full, hundreds of people are integrated, and we are in full swing preparing the grounds and confirming our program schedule.
The following teams have space for more Soulshiners. The portal will remain partially open to receive participation forms for these teams only:

BUT!
“I’m a Performer, Teacher or Artist!”
Workshops are at the heart of Soulshine’s value system. This year, we are simplifying and reducing the number of workshops offered, focusing on quality over quantity.
We strongly encourage all Soulshiners to consider what they could teach the community. The schedule will highlight practical skills and community building, among other offerings.
Everyone interested in proposing a workshop must also sign up for a secondary team. Getting involved with other crews ensures that you will benefit from community-building teamwork!
If your workshop is selected, this accounts for 8 of your 12 teamwork hours. The balance of hours will be fulfilled by your second team choice. This level of integration is critical for building a solid community and ensures you integrate more deeply and build everyone’s teamwork skills.
Music and other performing arts are the expression of vibrant festival culture.
Unique to this project, musicians, actors, dancers, singers, and other performers are considered community members first and foremost. The focus is on teamwork and relationships rather than entertainment, which for musicians is a big adjustment from traditional festival culture.
In our community environment, entertainment is not just a show, but a contribution, much like someone cooking your meals, tending the children, or patrolling the borders. At Soulshine, we value and nurture culture, but we also recognize the equal importance of food, shelter, families, and safety. In this model, musicians and other performers are not just entertainers, but also co-creating crew members, contributing with their craft for the well-being of our community.
Festivals have traditionally used music to attract interest and sell passes. It is important to note that Soulshine is not selling passes. We are not creating entertainment that others pay for. We are building a community to foster personal relationships and strengthen social resilience.
We hope you will join this experiment to learn if we can generate a festival for the benefit of all.
BUT!
“I want to sell my art or goods!”
Soulshine provides space for a wide variety of self-made artists and creators in the Art Village.
Everyone in attendance at the festival is eligible to sell their homemade wares in the designated location at their own discretion beginning Saturday morning.
